1967 started as a worker in Shandong Shengli Refinery Plant and later promoted to positions of Technician, Workshop Deputy Chief, Workshop Chief, Deputy Chief Engineer and General Manager; assumed positions of General Manager and CPC Standing Committee Member of the former Qilu Petrochemical Company of China Petrochemical Corporation; used to be a Standing Committee Member of the CPC Standing Committee of Zibo, Shandong province;
1987 Deputy General Manager (deputy minister rank), Administrative Deputy General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of the China Petrochemical Corporation;
1997 Chairman of the Board, General Manager and Party Group Secretary of the China Donglian Petrochemical Corporation Ltd., and, concurrently, Chairman of the Yizheng Chemical Fiber Company Ltd.
