Female, born in July 1948 in Wuqiao, Hebei Province; of university education background; in 1968, started work and, in August 1972, joined the CPC;

1968-1978 settled down in the Sudulun Commune of the Wulate Front County of Ba Region, Inner-Mongolia, assumed offices of Chief of Production Team, Deputy Director of the Revolutionary Committee of the Commune;

1978-1982 studied Chinese History at the History Department of Nankai University;

1982 teacher and, then, Deputy Secretary of CPC Committee of the Branch School of Nankai University,

1987 Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of Nankai University and Chief of Student Affairs Office;

1989 Deputy Director of the Publicity and Education Department of the State Commission of Family Planning, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Secretary of Disciplinary Committee of the Directly Affiliated Institutions of the State Commission of Family Planning;

1995 Member and, then, Secretary of the Discipline and Work Committee of the State Organs Work Committee;

1997 Standing Committee Member of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Member of the State Organs Work Committee, Secretary of the Work Committee of Discipline Inspection Commission;

2004 Deputy Secretary of CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection;

2007 Minister of Supervision and Director of National Bureau of Corruption Prevention, Director of the Office for Rectification of Sector Malpractices and Member of the Public Security Commission of the CPC Central Committee;

Elected as Member of the Central Committee at the 17th CPC National Congress, Member and, then, Standing Committee Member and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Discipline Inspection Commission, and elected as Member and Standing Committee Member of the CPC Discipline Inspection Commission.
